Which statement best describes you? I am comfortable making my genome sequence data publicly available without prior review.
Severe disease or rare genetic trait Yes
Do you have a severe genetic disease or rare genetic trait? If so, you can add a description for your public profile. I have heart disease and it started very early. I do not smoke, and have never smoked. I am overweight, but that is the only risk factor that I have for heart disease. Everyone on both sides of my family suffers from high blood pressure, so my thought is that it must be genetic. However, I'm not sure that it really counts as a severe disease. It may be a leading cause of death, but other than having to have a stent and taking lots of drugs and being careful with what I eat, it doesn't really have much effect on my life. Another thing, which I've recently learned can have genetic origins is anxiety. Every woman in my family suffers extreme anxiety. Panic attacks, etc. My sister is even on Disability because her anxiety is so severe.
